Monthly rentals

How monthly subscriptions work

Renting classic video arcade games from Rent My Arcade is similar to other subscription services.

For as little as $75 per month:

  • You select any available game
  • You keep the game as long as you want
  • If you get tired of the game, you can exchange it for another one
  • Cancel your subscription at any time
  • New games are added monthly

Choose a Monthly Subscription Plan

We now offer one-month, two-month or three-month subscription plans for one flat fee. After the initial term, you can either return the game or continue renting for only $75 per month.

View our pricing options to see which rental plan works best for you.

The fine print:

  • $75 refundable security deposit fee required for each game
  • Delivery is limited to Twin Cities metro area locations with roll-up access to garages, walk-out basements, elevators, or staircases with three steps or less.
  • A delivery fee may apply and will be determined by the number of games rented, the location and ease of access.

  • Recurring monthly subscription to be setup through 2CheckOut/Verifone.

Renting in Five Easy Steps

Once you decide you'd like to rent arcade games from Rent My Arcade, please contact us to request more information and we'll walk you through the following steps.

Step 1: Determine where the game will be located

Will the game be used in a house, garage, apartment or business? Currently we limit service to locations in the Twin Cities metro area with roll-up access to garages, walk-out basements, elevators, or staircases with three steps or less. We can be a little flexible, but essentially we don't want to hurt ourselves, the game, or your property by going up/down long or turning flights of stairs.

Step 2: Complete an application

After we talk, we'll send you a link to our online application and have you review our terms and conditions. It essentially says that you promise not to damage the game and we promise to drop it off, pick it up and fix it if anything mechanical goes wrong.

Step 3: Set up a payment account

To manage payments, we use 2Checkout/Verifone, which we've found to be safe and secure and really easy to use. You'll be sent a link to set up the monthly subscription - don't worry, you can cancel any time. In addition to the $75 per month rental fee, there is a one-time, $75 damage deposit for each game rented. The damage deposit is fully refundable upon the return of the game.

If there is any damage to the machine that isn't mechanical in nature (like water/pop spillage, ripped or peeled stickers, damage to the controls or cabinet) then the $75 deposit will be applied towards repairs and you will be billed or invoiced for the difference.

Step 4: Arrange for delivery

We are able to make deliveries most evenings and weekends. Usually games can be delivered within 3 days of a request for drop-off/pickup.

Step 5: Return or exchange a game

When you're done with the game you have the option to either return it (and cancel your subscription) or swap it for another of our available games. We ask that you keep the games for at lease one month.

Why should you rent from Rent My Arcade?

My name is Pete and I collect and restore video arcade games in St Paul, MN. I enjoy fixing games, as much as (and sometimes more than) I love playing them. Because of that, I've got too many games collecting dust that should be blasting aliens, gobbling dots, and dodging barrels.

You're here because you've got a place in your heart (and home) for classic full-size arcade games that can never be replaced with an iPhone app or retro console. You want the real thing, in the real cabinet, with the real sounds and an honest-to-god real joystick.

But these are old machines, and you don't want to fix them when the joystick jams up, when the monitor starts flickering and when the power goes out in the middle of a game. You don't want to pay $1,500 for someone else's used game, and you definitely don't want to pay $3,000 for a new "classic" reproduction game that never actually saw the inside of an arcade. I think we can help each other out.
